This week, during the European Radiation Protection Week (ERPW) 2025 held in London, outstanding contributions were presented by PhD candidates from the Doctoral School of Industrial Engineering, University of Rome Tor Vergata.
Alessandro Bucci delivered his oral presentation entitled “Space Weather Radiation Mitigation in Low Earth Orbit”, focusing on innovative strategies to address radiation risks in space missions.
Alongside him, several colleagues contributed to the poster session with remarkable research works:
-
Francesco Geri: “Towards Integrated EPRR Systems: Governance, Participation and Resilience”
-
Luca Romano: “Rapid Estimation of I-131 Health Effects Following Radiological Events: Computational Strategies and Challenges”
-
Pio Ciro Aspetti: “Electronic device with PIN diode and RADFET used for neutron and gamma prompt detection”
All of them are PhD candidates under the supervision of Prof. Andrea Malizia, who expressed his honor and pride in guiding such talented researchers.
Their contributions highlight the excellence and international recognition of the University of Rome Tor Vergata in the field of radiation protection, nuclear safety, and CBRNe research.
Congratulations to all authors for their achievements and scientific impact!
