New scientific publication

We are pleased to announce the publication of a new international review article in Fire (MDPI):

📖 A CBRNE-Based Perspective on Wildfire Emergency Management: Preparedness, Operational Response and Multi-Hazard Integration

As wildfires become increasingly severe and interconnected with industrial facilities, critical infrastructures, hazardous materials, and urban environments, emergency managers are facing challenges that go far beyond traditional firefighting.

This paper explores how operational concepts developed within the CBRNE community can provide valuable tools for managing these evolving scenarios. By integrating structured Incident Command Systems, hazard characterization, operational zoning, interoperability, and advanced field assessment capabilities, emergency response organizations can significantly improve preparedness, operational coordination, and resilience.

The review emphasizes that modern wildfire management should increasingly adopt a multi-hazard perspective, recognizing the interaction between natural disasters and technological or industrial risks.

🌍 This publication is the result of an international collaboration involving researchers from Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Middle East.

👏 CBRN GATE would like to express a special appreciation to Dr. Gian Marco Ludovici, first author of this publication, whose scientific leadership and continuous commitment to CBRNE research have made this important contribution possible. His work continues to bridge emergency medicine, disaster preparedness, and CBRNE risk management through innovative multidisciplinary research.

Congratulations also to all the co-authors for this outstanding collaborative achievement.
